The opportunity: 

Flexport is seeking a seasoned Senior Events Manager with extensive experience in orchestrating large-scale, high-production events. This leadership role encompasses full responsibility for the planning, execution, and management of Flexport-run events, including our prominent annual customer conference. The Senior Events Manager will ensure the delivery of top-tier event experiences that effectively represent Flexport’s brand and meet strategic business objectives.

You will:

  • Strategic Event Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive event strategies that align with corporate goals, managing all facets from conceptualization to completion.
  • End-to-End Conference Management: Lead the planning, execution, and follow-up of major conferences, overseeing every detail from logistics to content and participant engagement.
  • Agency and Vendor Coordination: Identify, onboard, and serve as the primary liaison with event agencies and external vendors, ensuring collaboration and alignment with event objectives.
  • Budget Oversight: Create, manage, and reconcile event budgets, optimizing expenditures to maximize return on investment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on event goals and execution.
  • On-Site Event Leadership: Travel to event locations to oversee venue selection, setup, real-time management, and post-event evaluations.
  • Creative and Brand Integration: Collaborate with creative teams to develop engaging and innovative event concepts that resonate with the brand and enhance company culture.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across Flexport with cross-functional teams including product, technology, marketing, and sales to ensure alignment and integration of event strategies with broader business objectives.

You should have:  

  • Proven Leadership: 10-12 years of experience in event management, with a track record of successfully leading large-scale events from start to finish.
  • Conference Execution Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead and execute all aspects of a conference, managing complexities and delivering exceptional results.
  • Strong Vendor Management Skills: Extensive experience in managing relationships with event agencies, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Exceptional Organizational Skills: Outstanding ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus on details and deadlines.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Budget Management: Skilled in budget development and fiscal management with a keen understanding of how to optimize resources.
  • Travel Requirement: Willingness and ability to travel frequently for on-site event management and coordination.

  • High judgment and decision-making ability in fast-paced environments.
  • A creative eye for presentation and design, ensuring impactful and on-brand event experiences.
The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the posting's respective region. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training. 
The US base salary range for this position (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits):
$132,000$161,000 USD
