About the Role 

We're looking for a passionate and driven Senior Accounting Manager to join our accounting team.This role will be working closely with leaders in the finance team and corporate management, reporting directly into the Corporate Controller. This individual would be familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures, embraces challenges and can rely on his/her experience, educational background and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the monthly close process, ensuring that transactions are coded and classified correctly. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, strong communicator, and advocate for strong policies and processes. We are looking for an accounting professional with knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.


Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals and key account reconciliations.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance against budget and prior periods, providing detailed variance explanations and actionable insights to management. 
  • Responsible for maintaining dimension reporting in the ERP and related systems for a rapidly growing company
  • Monitor intercompany transactions ensuring proper elimination and reconciliation during the close process.
  • Partner with strategic finance to prepare month end close deck
  • Collaborate with department leaders to monitor and control operating expenses
  • Lead and support technical accounting projects through completion
  • Design, document, implement, and execute internal controls to ensure transactions and balances are accurately reported
  • Support external audit by providing timely and accurate support schedules as requested
  • Maintain and oversee the accounting systems to ensure thy are used to the fullest potential
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline financial processes related to operational finance
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and tasks as requested


Ideal Background
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting with 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience (ideally with a mix of public and private experience)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Excellent organizational abilities, customer service orientation, attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Sage or similar ERP
  • Experience with SQL or Python a plus
  • Knows the importance of strong documentation and practices
  • Highly collaborative and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • A team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • CPA preferred, but not required


$140,000 - $170,000 a year
