Position Summary
The Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring data is managed, secured, and accessible across the organization. This role combines expertise in access control policies, data catalog management, and metadata governance to support organizational objectives and compliance requirements. Reporting to the VP of Data Analytics, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM), metadata management, and data governance concepts, paired with excellent analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Access Policies & Standards
o Develop, implement, and maintain access control policies and standards across systems and applications.
o Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to design and deploy identity and access management (IAM) solutions, including privileged access management (PAM).
o Conduct regular access reviews and audits, ensuring appropriate permissions are granted and removed in a timely manner.
o Support the drafting and lead the implementation of access policies, recommend improvements, and monitor user activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
o Prepare reports and metrics on access management effectiveness.
Data Catalog Management
o Lead the administration and optimization of the enterprise data catalog system, ensuring accurate inventory and classification of data assets.
o Curate, structure, and manage the Business Glossary and Data Catalog to enhance accessibility and usability across data teams and data owners within our business.
o Design data solutions, including metadata management, taxonomies, and data classification.
o Translate business data governance requirements into technical requirements, and onboard users to data governance platforms.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize feature development, drive catalog adoption, and build comprehensive acceptance criteria.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in data governance, access management, or related fields.
· Strong knowledge of IAM concepts, tools, and technologies (e.g., Active Directory, PAM solutions).
· Proficiency in metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra Data Intelligence, Informatica CDCG) and advanced data analysis techniques (e.g., SQL, Excel).
· Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance requirements.
· Experience in designing and implementing data taxonomies, metadata solutions, and workflows.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
· Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISA, IAM, or related data governance certifications.
· Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and API integrations is a plus.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $60,000 - $70,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other reward may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
