Te Tūranga – About the role
Are you ready to lead impactful IT infrastructure projects at one of Aotearoa’s most iconic organisations? At Foodies, we’re on a mission to deliver world-class tech solutions across our stores, distribution centres, and beyond — and we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager who thrives in a dynamic, people-first environment. If you believe in creating awesome team cultures, moving fast to deliver real value, and having a bit of fun along the way, this could be your next big move.
Based in Mangere (with flexible hybrid working), you'll lead a diverse portfolio of infrastructure-focused projects — from WiFi and networking to cloud migrations, security enhancements, CCTV, server builds, and in-store and supply chain tech like RFID and voice devices. You’ll also contribute to our project management guild, helping evolve delivery practices and enabling self-organising teams to do their best work.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure projects including networking, cloud/on-premise systems, server refreshes, and end-user computing
- Bringing structure and agility to mixed-methodology environments (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Supporting implementation of infrastructure upgrades across hardware, software, and security domains
- Partnering with architects to turn technical designs into business-aligned project outcomes
- Coaching teams, shaping culture, and building delivery capability across the business
Ngā painga - What we offer
We’re committed to providing awesome experiences for our people, including offering a range of benefits:
- Free carparking -we’ve got over 1,000 carparks including 36 free EV plugs
- Southern Cross health insurance, Foodies superannuation scheme
- Onsite café with subsidised meals, mini mart, 5% discount at our retail stores
- Flexible working options, a day off on your birthday, long service leave
- Inhouse learning and development programmes and courses, flu vaccinations, and social network groups (we call them Tribes).
He kōrero mōu - About you
You're an experienced Senior Project Manager who knows that successful delivery is about more than just timelines and budgets — it’s about knitting together empowered teams to deliver the right outcomes with the right quality.
You’re confident navigating both Agile and traditional delivery models, thrive on creating high-performing teams, and bring a calm, solutions-focused mindset to everything you do. You've got the qualifications (like PMI, PRINCE2, SAFe, CSM, or PSM), a track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects, and the ability to translate tech speak into business outcomes — with a good laugh along the way.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- At least 5 years’ experience leading large-scale infrastructure and/or software projects
- A solid grasp of infrastructure architecture and how it supports business goals
- Proven delivery across networking (WiFi, Exchange, NiFi), cloud and on-prem systems, security (including CCTV), server builds/refreshes, end-user computing, and in-store and supply chain technologies (like RFID and voice devices)
- Confidence in managing project financials (Capex and Opex), and guiding projects through the right levels of governance
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and bring clarity to complexity — plus a great sense of humour to keep things human
You’ll thrive here if you love variety, value collaboration, and enjoy creating environments where people can do their best work — and have some fun along the way.
If you’re excited about delivering meaningful infrastructure projects, shaping team culture, and being part of a supportive, forward-thinking organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
