Position Summary:

As the Treasury Manager of a nature-based solutions company committed to developing high-quality voluntary carbon offset projects, this highly skilled and experienced person will have 3 to 5 years of experience in cash management, loan compliance, counterparty assessment and onboarding, insurance, and capital markets hedging experience.

This position will report to the Director of Finance. The Treasury Manager is responsible

for managing the company's financial activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and optimizing the company's financial performance.

Chestnut was founded and backed by Kimmeridge, a US-based private equity firm with offices in New York and Denver. The role is based in Chestnut’s headquarters in New York, NY. The role is expected to be in-person with modest travel.




Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

•3 to 5 years of experience in treasury management, with a focus on cash management, loan compliance, counterparty assessment and onboarding, insurance, and capital markets hedging.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•Professional certification (e.g., CTP, CFA) is a plus.

•Carbon market experience is a plus.

•Strong understanding of financial markets, risk management, and corporate finance.

•Experience with treasury systems and project management.

•Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, banks, and financial institutions.

•Effective communication at all levels of the business, including executives and external partners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Cash Management: Oversee daily cash operations, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and optimizing cash balances.
  • Loan Compliance: Ensure compliance with loan agreements, monitor covenants, and manage relationships with lenders.
  • Counterparty Assessment and Onboarding: Evaluate and onboard new counterparties, ensuring they meet the company's financial and operational standards.
  • Insurance: Manage the company's insurance programs, including risk assessment, policy renewals, and claims management.
  • Capital Markets Hedging: Develop and implement hedging strategies to mitigate financial risks related to interest rates and foreign exchange and commodities.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for financial decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including accounting, finance, and legal, to ensure cohesive financial management.

$155,000 - $175,000 a year
The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $155,000 - $175,000 annually, subject to the chosen candidate’s experience, skills, certifications and qualifications.

All employees are eligible to participate in health, insurance, and 401K plan benefits on their first day of employment. Chestnut Carbon pays 100% of the cost of the employees’ health/dental/vision insurance. During each fiscal year of employment, employees will be eligible to earn a discretionary annual incentive bonus, based on company and individual performance targets.
