About the role

What you'll do

• Monitor AV operations, carefully analyzing real-time data to ensure safe and efficient performance
• Respond promptly to AV-initiated requests for guidance, resolving issues in a timely and safe manner, and escalating operational concerns as needed
• Maintain clear and effective communication with ground teams, dispatch, and other stakeholders, including law enforcement and first responders when necessary
• Collaborate closely with technical, testing, and user experience teams, providing detailed insights and iterative feedback to enhance AV performance
• Analyze vehicle performance data, generating reports on incidents, key performance metrics, and areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards, consistently following best practices
• Identify and troubleshoot operational challenges, proactively addressing AV system or route-related issues and escalating when necessary
• Stay current with AV technology advancements, software updates, and industry trends, actively participating in ongoing training and development programs

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a box truck
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean record and no major infractions
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to navigate multiple software platforms
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear, concise reporting and coordination
• Keen observational skills, with the ability to monitor multiple systems and detect anomalies in real-time
• Critical thinking and decision-making abilities, remaining calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including covering multiple time zones and rotating shifts
• Capability to remotely monitor vehicles for extended periods (6-8 hours per shift)

Bonus Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field (e.g., Engineering, CS, Transportation) or equivalent experience is preferred but not required
• Experience in autonomous vehicle operations, testing, or a related field
• Background in remote command center operations or simulator-based environments
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and FMCSA rules is a plus
• Understanding of vehicle dynamics, traffic management, and operational safety
• Proficiency with data analysis tools and techniques to assess vehicle performance
• Strong aptitude for technology, including gaming systems, apps, and simulation tools
• A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and autonomous vehicle technology
