About The Role:
As a Business Development & Brand Acquisition Specialist at GiddyUp you will be focused on Grommet – a leading product discovery platform, connecting millions of shoppers with innovative and problem-solving products. Since 2008, Grommet has launched over 4,000 unique products, helping brands go from undiscovered to unstoppable. The Business Development & Brand Acquisition Specialist will be at the forefront of this mission—scouting, identifying, and acquiring the next generation of groundbreaking products to launch on Grommet. This role requires a strategic, self-motivated leader who thrives on finding hidden gems in the marketplace, leveraging cutting-edge prospecting strategies, and building relationships with innovative product creators. You will be responsible for driving the product discovery process—from identifying promising new brands to getting them to apply and launch successfully on Grommet.
What You’ll Do:- Product Scouting & Acquisition: Discover and evaluate unique, problem-solving, and trending products that align with Grommet’s audience, values and mission.
- Prospecting & Outreach: Utilize prospecting tools, social media, industry networks, email lists, and communities to build a pipeline of high-potential brands.
- Sales & Persuasion: Conduct cold outreach (social, email, calls) and develop compelling messaging to attract and convert brands to join Grommet.
- Lead Nurturing & Partnerships: Build relationships with emerging product creators, founders, and brand owners to encourage long-term success on Grommet.
- Industry Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends, price points, and product categories to inform sourcing strategies and capitalize on high-growth opportunities.
- Brand Onboarding & Enablement: Assist brands in the application process, Shopify app integration, and technical setup to ensure a smooth launch.
- Event Representation: Attend and network at trade shows and industry events (e.g., CES, Inspired Home) to discover and connect with innovative brands.
- Collaboration & Internal Communication: Work closely with the internal team to ensure new product discoveries align with brand values, newsletter content, and marketing strategies.
- Automation & AI Utilization: Leverage automation tools, AI-driven prospecting, and CRM systems to scale outreach efforts and maintain an organized pipeline.
- Performance Metrics: Track outreach effectiveness, application conversions, and successful product launches, continuously optimizing for better results.
What Success Looks like over the next 12 months: - 90 Days In: Laying the Foundation & Driving Early Wins. You’ll develop a strong approach to product scouting, brand outreach, and acquisition, gaining a clear understanding of what makes a product a great fit for Grommet. You’ll be actively identifying promising brands, testing outreach strategies, and refining your messaging while seeing your efforts materialize as brands you’ve discovered apply and begin onboarding. By this stage, you’ll have built relationships with emerging product creators, established a growing pipeline, and successfully launched your first few brands on Grommet.
- 6 Months In: Consistently Hitting Targets & Identifying Winners. You’ll be a key driver of brand acquisition, consistently meeting and exceeding your targets. Your ability to spot high-potential brands will be sharper, and you’ll leverage performance data to refine your approach, optimizing conversion rates and outreach efficiency. Your relationships with founders will be stronger, and you’ll have a growing portfolio of successful brands on Grommet, with many already generating traction. By now, you’ll be operating with confidence, efficiency, and a clear strategy for continued success.
- 12 Months In: A Key Player in Grommet’s Growth & Brand Success. You’ll be a recognized expert in discovering and onboarding winning brands, with hundreds of successful launches to your name. Your refined processes and data-driven approach will allow you to scale efforts effectively, while automation and AI-driven tools will enhance your outreach and pipeline management. Brands will seek out Grommet because of your reputation, and you’ll play a crucial role in optimizing onboarding, improving success rates, and identifying high-performers that may scale into GiddyUp. Your work will be directly shaping Grommet’s marketplace, driving revenue, and creating long-term success for both brands and the platform.

Required Education & Experience:- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or product scouting.
- Proven ability to identify trends and opportunities in eCommerce, consumer products, or retail.
- Experience in sales, persuasion, and relationship building.
- Strong understanding of DTC brands, eCommerce, and digital marketing trends.
Preferred Education & Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Management, or other related field
- Experience working in a startup or fast-growing eCommerce environment.
- Familiarity with affiliate marketing, partner commerce, or direct-to-consumer sales.
- Prior experience in product sourcing, brand partnerships, or consumer goods scouting.
