Summer Internship

The summer internship with Givens Communities is a 10-week immersive internship for students who are enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs. Reporting to our certified Career Coach, the internship with Givens Communities will focus on administration and leadership in life plan and affordable communities to develop diverse leadership for the future of aging services. A summer project will be assigned to the intern that will benefit the organization and culminating with a special project presentation to key leaders. 

The intern will receive access to high-level executives and insight on the decision-making process within the organization including:

• A meeting with the CEO
• Attendance and participation in department, staff, and board meetings
• Mentoring opportunities with key leaders within the organization

What is the focus of the internship?:

• To shape, develop, and mentor a diverse workforce bound for leadership roles
• To expose future talent to the field of aging
• To provide additional skills to prepare students to enter the job market, including presentations and a performance evaluation to further enhance their experience
• To provide a positive learning experience including a final evaluation focusing on positive accomplishments and opportunities for growth

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (DACA students are eligible to apply)
• Minimum 2.8 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

There will be a compensation rate of $18.00 per hour.

We already have four communities (two life plan communities and two affordable communities) with plans for many more in the coming years.
