Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The Software Tester will be responsible for evaluating the functionality, performance, and security of software applications to ensure they meet quality standards. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to identify defects, enhance software quality, and ensure seamless user experiences. Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Strategy:
Develop, implement, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and design documentation. - Manual & Automated Testing:
Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the functionality, usability, and performance of software applications across multiple platforms (web, mobile, etc.). - Defect Identification & Reporting:
Identify, document, and track software defects and issues in the defect tracking system. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution. - Test Execution:
Execute regression, functional, integration, system, and acceptance testing to validate software quality throughout the development lifecycle. - Test Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test results. - Performance & Load Testing:
Evaluate system performance, conduct load testing, and assess the scalability of applications. - Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to review requirements, discuss testing strategies, and provide feedback on design and implementation. - Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in software testing. Suggest improvements to testing processes and contribute to the overall enhancement of the QA process. - Cross-Functional Support:
Provide testing support across various platforms, technologies, and product lines. Ensure that all software releases meet established quality criteria.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, etc.) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Quality Center).
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, LoadRunner, etc.) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Knowledge of SQL for database testing and data validation.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and meticulous in ensuring the highest level of quality.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Experience in performance testing and load testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests within the development process.
- Experience with mobile app testing (iOS/Android).
- ISTQB certification or other relevant testing certifications.
