Manager, Culture and Development

We are seeking a Manager, Culture & Development, to join our Human Resources team. This role is a steward of our culture, reinforcing our Mission and Values and fostering communication between the company and our employees. The Manager, Culture & Development, is responsible for helping develop and execute initiatives and agreed-upon tactics in alignment with best practices to help optimize our culture, employee experience and engagement.

They will be resourceful, innovative, and excel in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, ably working across various workstreams. 


Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the strategic development and reinforcement of best practices for a thriving culture and employee experience
  • Execute agreed-upon tactics, working closely with the SVP, HR, and with input from key stakeholders
  • Develop an understanding of the GSG culture and working practices, utilizing established templates and/or guidance, and implementing in the day-to-day as appropriate
  • Help monitor and report on employee experience and engagement, including managing employee surveys and analyses
  • Write, develop, and/or monitor relevant employee surveys (utilizing engagement system as   needed) or communications, including helping to maintain or establish related protocols
  • Utilize results from employee surveys or other listening to recommend and contribute to tactics across multiple verticals, including but not limited to, employee events/teambuilding, training, and employee rewards and recognition
  • Assist in developing and implementing initiatives that maintain, build, and support connection firm-wide in a hybrid work environment
  • Help document and implement tactics to ensure processes, trainings, policies, and the like are understood and reinforced within our culture
  • Manage any reporting needed to keep stakeholders informed and on track with established initiatives
  • Help manage the GSG Training & Events calendar(s), including managing logistics and/or helping identify and select internal individuals/teams or external partners to develop and deliver courses, workshops, and other training as needed
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and the competitive landscape, including developing an understanding of the strategic communications, research, and public affairs industry and trends, in order to recommend best practices which strengthen and reinforce our culture
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and manage assigned budget(s) as needed
  • Contribute to other areas related to HR/culture as identified 


Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role for a professional services company, agency, or similar environment. Similar work in public affairs, public relations, political polling, market research and/or related industry is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and project management skills
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate and maintain strong working relationships
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently
  • Proactive and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience building and fostering culture-related initiatives in hybrid environment(s) is preferred
  • Successful track record communicating across various levels of an organization
  • Exhibit sound judgment, holistic thinking in decision-making, and a problem-solver approach 
  • Solid understanding of general HR practices and employment law/compliance preferred 
  • Background in industrial-organizational psychology and fluency in change management strategies is a plus
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new programs/systems, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications and employee-centric systems, tools, and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience


The base salary for this position is between $90,000 to $110,000 commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus. GSG provides a comprehensive benefits package including excellent coverage for medical, vision, and dental insurance; paid parental leave; generous time off and holidays; 401k with employer match; and additional benefits.
