Director of Demand Generation & Marketing

Location: Remote or Raleigh, NC
Team: Marketing

About Greenplaces

We're on a mission to make sustainability accessible and impactful for businesses of all sizes—not just the Fortune 500. Through our innovative software and services, Greenplaces helps companies measure and track their carbon emissions and serves as a source of truth for business sustainability activity. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, with team members in San Francisco, New York, Charleston, and more, we're backed by world-class investors including Redpoint, Felicis, and Tishman Speyer.

About the Role

We're looking for a strategic and execution-focused Director of Demand Generation & Marketing to lead Greenplaces’ growth through high-impact marketing campaigns, webinars, content, and events. This individual will own our full-funnel marketing engine—from awareness to qualified pipeline—and build integrated campaigns that deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in revenue/outbound marketing with the ability to lead field and event strategies, all while aligning tightly with sales and product teams.

What You'll Do

Campaigns, Field Marketing & Events

  • Lead strategic demand generation initiatives including field events, dinner series, webinars, and digital campaigns to generate qualified pipeline across key verticals.

  • Design and manage our conference and speaking engagement strategy to elevate Greenplaces’ thought leadership and advisory board.

  • Own the monthly webinar program from planning to follow-up, including speaker coordination, content development, and lead handoff to Sales/BDRs.

  • Partner with Sales to ensure marketing-generated leads are promptly followed up and accurately attributed.

Email Marketing & Lifecycle Engagement

  • Manage all outbound marketing via HubSpot, including newsletters, webinar promotions, and automated nurtures.

  • Maintain and build a segmented database of ~17,000 marketable contacts and ensure campaigns are personalized by audience and funnel stage.

Content Marketing & SEO

  • Oversee creation of compelling, educational blog content that supports top- and mid-funnel conversion.

  • Collaborate with internal writers (and GenAI tools) to publish weekly posts on compliance, regulatory trends, product features, and customer use cases.

  • Optimize web content using WordPress, Yoast, and Canva for SEO and brand consistency, and evaluate paid media or digital marketing options as needed.

Product & Customer Marketing

  • Support product launch campaigns and messaging, including Disclosure Reporting and Regulation Radar.

  • Create sales enablement content (e.g., one-pagers, slide decks) and assist with positioning updates across the buyer journey.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Analyze marketing performance and develop frameworks to assess ROI and conversion.

  • Translate market trends into campaign themes that support acquisition, retention, and brand differentiation.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to align marketing efforts to business goals.

About You

  • 5-8+ years of experience in demand generation, field marketing, or related B2B SaaS roles

  • Proven track record building and executing marketing programs that directly drive pipeline growth

  • Strong project management skills with high attention to detail

  • Confident communicator who can translate data and strategy into clear campaigns and storytelling

  • Experienced in marketing automation and CRM tools (HubSpot preferred)

  • Comfortable owning top-line pipeline goals and marketing attribution

  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 25%) for events and team meetings

  • Bonus: Experience marketing to sustainability, compliance, or highly regulated industries

What We Offer

  • A chance to make a meaningful impact on climate action by helping businesses embrace sustainability

  • Flexible, unlimited paid time off

  • Generous medical, vision, and dental benefits

  • Equity packages for all employees

  • Parental leave

  • Mental health and family planning resources

  • Remote and hybrid work options

  • Annual team and department retreats
