As a Senior Customer Success Manager, you will be at the heart of our partnerships with universities, ensuring they see real value in Handshake. You’ll work with key decision-makers, develop scalable engagement strategies, and help shape our approach in Germany. What You’ll Be Doing

🌍 Own & Grow Key University Partnerships

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with university stakeholders at all levels, from career services teams to senior leadership.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping universities drive student engagement and employer connections through Handshake.
  • Proactively address challenges, share best practices, and introduce new ways to maximize value for our partners.

📈 Drive Retention, Expansion & Product Adoption

  • Own renewals and expansions, ensuring our partners continue to see Handshake as a must-have solution.
  • Use data-driven insights to guide universities on improving student and employer engagement.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and university needs to position Handshake as a long-term strategic partner.

🤝 Be the Voice of the German Market

  • Act as the key link between our German partners and internal teams, sharing insights to shape product development, marketing strategies, and business decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to refine our approach in Germany.
  • Contribute to Handshake’s broader European strategy as we continue expanding across new markets.

🚀 Customer On-Sites & Events

  • Travel to university campuses across Germany to run strategic meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
  • Represent Handshake at industry events, sharing our vision and driving awareness in the market.

 

What We’re Looking For

Experienced Customer Success Leader  - You have 3+ years of experience in Customer Success, Account Management, or a similar role, ideally in SaaS.
Strategic Thinker & Problem-Solver  - You don’t just react to problems, you anticipate them and create solutions.
Strong Communicator & Relationship Builder - You’re comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decision-makers.
Data-Driven & Results-Oriented - You use data to tell compelling stories, track trends, and drive engagement.
Thrives in Fast-Paced Environments - You love a challenge and excel in high-growth, evolving businesses.
Fluent in German & English - You can confidently engage with partners in both languages.

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
