The Talent Compliance Specialist ensures that our company's interpreter compliance program adheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves managing aspects related to independent contractor classification, 1099 reporting, data privacy, and ethical conduct. The coordinator plays a vital role in mitigating risks, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of compliance within our organization.
In this role, you will develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures, such as creating and updating our Independent Contractor Agreement, establishing clear guidelines for worker classification and onboarding, and implementing data security and privacy protocols. Staying abreast of legal and regulatory changes impacting interpreter compliance will be essential.
You will oversee compliance operations by managing the onboarding process for new interpreters, including credential verification and background checks. You’ll ensure accurate and timely processing of 1099 forms and maintain meticulous records of interpreter qualifications, contracts, and payments. Regular internal audits will be conducted to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Providing guidance and training is a key part of this role. You will educate staff and interpreters on compliance policies and procedures, develop and deliver training programs on relevant topics such as worker classification, data privacy, and ethical conduct, and serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for compliance-related questions.
Risk mitigation is another crucial responsibility. You will conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities, design mechanisms to catch compliance errors before they occur, and develop and implement corrective action plans to address any identified issues. Staying informed about best practices and emerging trends in contractor compliance will be important.
Collaborating with stakeholders across departments, including HR, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment and communication on compliance is vital. You will develop strong relationships with interpreters to provide ongoing support and enable continuous improvement. Additionally, you will effectively communicate compliance-related issues to clients.
