SUMMARY

The Research & Development Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of the R&D teams projects and supporting laboratory testing processes and data management. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, analyzing and managing large amounts of data and providing strategic oversite on project timelines to drive research initiatives against achievable deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the project coordinator, overseeing data management and ensuring timely delivery to relevant stakeholders. Projects will include injury assessments, hazard replications, mechanical testing, and on-site customer visits.
  • Manage project tasks associated with “The Customer Experience Center,” which includes logging customer data into Salesforce and tracking outcomes related to cost savings or revenue generation.
  • Engagement in research initiatives, including patent research, sample preparation for mechanical testing, and assisting with various technical projects.
  • Additional support-based tasks will be assigned by management as the department scales.
  • Assist in conducting experiments, data collection, and analysis to support research initiatives.
  • Prepare samples for mechanical testing.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other stakeholders to develop and improve products, processes, or technologies.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on research findings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Build, log and submit SOP for new projects.
  • Support the development of a WMU internship program.
  • Stay updated with the latest scientific advancements and industry trends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in research and development, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and experimental engineering
  • Knowledge of R&D methodologies, product development processes, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in PPE is a plus
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes is a plus
  • Experience in having been an intern or internship development is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office and laboratory setting with occasional travel for conferences, site visits, or partner collaboration.
  • Hands-on work with lab equipment, materials, and prototypes as required.
