Role Overview

Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Hillel at Kennesaw State University as the Engagement Associate. You will build one on one relationships with students, plan and execute engaging events and programs around campus, and help inspire students to make a commitment to Jewish life. KSU is the fastest growing university in the State of Georgia, and our Hillel is a reflection of that.

You will work closely with the Campus Director to support student programming and engagement, thereby ensuring the success of our growing program. You should be excited about working collaboratively to support, empower, and inspire college students. You are looking to take the first/next steps in your career in the Jewish nonprofit/education world and are enthusiastic about getting to know our students and helping us grow our program. You'll wake up each day (or at least most) and be genuinely excited and motivated about creating an inviting place that inspires students to explore, experience, and develop vibrant Jewish lives.

This role is contracted for the Spring Semester and can either be Full Time or Part Time depending on the candidate.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage with Students: Meet students across campus, building authentic relationships and connecting them to friends, community, and meaningful experiences.
  • Recruit for Immersive Programs: Support recruitment for cohort learning and immersive experiences like Birthright and alternative breaks and Onward.
  • Program Support: Help students take ownership of projects and create opportunities for growth and turn their program ideas into reality. Be in the building to support student leaders during their programming times (this will include some nights and weekends).
  • Social Media: Help craft and implement social media strategy for Hillel at KSU to improve online engagement and meet students where they are. Work with students to create a social media calendar, create and manage content, and craft newsletters.
  • Empower Emerging Leaders: Identify and mentor student leaders, providing guidance and opportunities for involvement and growth within the community.

On a day to day basis you will

  • Meet with students for coffee to get to know them better and engage them
  • Be present for Hillel programs and Shabbat dinners to support the student leaders running the event
  • Create social media posts to share what Kennesaw Hillel has been up to 
  • Support the Campus Director in guiding the student leaders in coming up with new engagement ideas

What You’ve Accomplished

  • 0-2 years of professional work experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • This is an in-person role location in Kennesaw, GA; remote work is not available for this position
  • Competency or a willingness to learn working with Canva, Constant Contact, Instagram, and HEaRT (Salesforce).

What You’ll Receive

  • The Full Time salary range for this role is $40,000-46,000
  • Part time salary to be determined based on experience and available hours
