We strive every day to create an environment for families and staff that is inclusive and welcoming of different experiences and perspectives. We prioritize learning, listening, and growing together and to foster a culture of respect.

The Opportunity

Hively is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to serve as a Clinical Supervisor. This role involves providing clinical supervision to pre-licensed staff (trainees and associates), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapy, and maintaining a small caseload of clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and have a passion for mentoring and developing emerging clinicians.

This role is available for either full-time or part-time (20 hours per week minimum required). Client caseload would be adjusted based on hours. This role is eligible for some hybrid work, but would be primarily in-office in Oakland and would require flexibility to commute to other office locations in the county as needed.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to trainees and associates.
  • Oversee and evaluate the clinical work of supervisees, ensuring adherence to ethical standards, best practices, and organizational policies.
  • Guide supervisees in developing their clinical skills, including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and case conceptualization.
  • Provide training and support in the application of DBT principles and techniques with children and families.
  • Review and provide feedback on clinical documentation (e.g., assessments, treatment plans, progress notes).
  • Monitor supervisees' progress toward licensure and provide guidance on meeting licensure requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely supervision records.
  • Maintain a small caseload of clients, providing individual and/or family therapy services.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices, with a specialization in DBT, to address the mental health needs of children and families.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor client progress.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, case conferences, and program development activities.
  • Collaborate with other clinical staff, program managers, and administrative personnel to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new clinical staff, as needed.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of mental health, including best practices, research, and ethical guidelines.

What You Should Bring:
  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 4 years of post-licensure experience providing direct therapy services to children and families.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing clinical supervision to pre-licensed therapists.
  • Strong interest and willingness to complete DBT certification.
  • Experience with Medi-Cal funded programs.
  • Familiarity with PAVE and CAQH.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Thorough understanding of ethical and legal standards related to mental health practice and clinical supervision.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, support, and guidance to supervisees.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proactive communication and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and record-keeping.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with clients.
