We're now looking for a Senior Analyst, Connected Life to join our Consumer team. To be a lead contributor to our Connected Life research globally and in the Mainland China market, focusing on the latest consumer wearable devices such as AR/XR/VR glasses to our success in research quality, product development, marketing, sales, and thought leadership.
Working in conjunction with the Practice Leader for Connected Life, drive Omdia’s research in leading consumer technologies, interacting with vendors, channel and service providers and ecosystem players to deliver quantitative and qualitative research (market share, forecasts, opinion pieces, presentations, etc.) as part of the broader connected life service. Through research, and in collaboration with the sales and events teams, contribute to the product’s success by delivering timely, high-quality, accurate and insightful analysis.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
Building market-relevant data and quantitative insights – Use primary and secondary research to build credible base data; ensure sufficient coverage of market players; create estimates where company reporting is not available; utilize history; ensure consistency with related data/markets; Using primary and secondary research to generate market projections; using credible sources to support forecasts; logging all assumptions and working in a clear way; creating the story around market development/opportunities/risks.
Qualitative action-driven insight and thought leadership – Produce written insights and press material that provides a solution perspective; Be opinionated and look for opportunities to comment on industry news; highly recognized within coverage areas. Support building credibility and visibility of research via multiple platforms, such as social media, industry event and media inquiries.
Client-facing and relationship-building: able to produce and deliver frequent market presentations to key client stakeholders and support sales during the pre-sales process. Actively support the inquiry process.
Constantly expanding research network in the relevant areas, contacts and is able to support the gathering of in-depth proprietary research insights for data and qualitative insights.
Research Scoping – keep research fresh by understanding customer needs/questions; enhancing the research each cycle and continually adding value to ensure we have clear USP; working with direct management to support research changes
Sales support – Partner with the sales team to generate new leads, progress existing leads, and support renewals; use scoping to continually evolve the research offering

Knowledge & Skills

•Data gathering and storytelling – advanced capabilities in data research methodology, data building, data manipulation
•Collaborative capabilities, knowing who to work with and where to seek support
•Ability to think outside the box in approaching problems to find innovative solutions
•Prioritising time for competing tasks
•Writing detailed, insightful and opinionated reports in a structured and concise way
Experience & Qualifications
•Solid industry knowledge of consumer technology market landscape
