Accounting Clerk

Ingram Barge Company has an opening for an Accounting Clerk that will be based in our Nashville, TN office, and report to the Accounts Payable Manager. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a passion and excitement for learning, and will take the initiative to finish any and all assigned tasks within deadlines. The AP department is a critical area of the business. • Processing payment runs – Check and ACH on weekly basis
• Coordinating additional signatures for checks and ACH payments
• Processing manual WIRE/ACH request for approval and record manual payments in PeopleSoft
• Working with assigned vendors for AP/SO matching
• Responsible for buyback account recon
• Maintaining Approval Authorization forms and update corresponding files
• Assisting with processing vendor invoices received from email account, US Mail, and inter-company for scanning. Includes sorting, barcoding, scanning, filing, and preparing for shredding.
• Monthly scanning of vendor code backup, rental car invoices, voucher closures and voided checks
• Reviewing vendor statements
• Reviewing and work the outstanding check list
• Gathering pertinent backup for customer invoices and payments based on quarterly audit requests
• Serving as back up to the Cash Application Coordinator as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Associate’s degree preferred
• Prior experience with PeopleSoft preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Able to multi-task
• Commitment to quality and accuracy
