Ingram Barge Company, the leading carrier on America’s inland waterways, is seeking a highly motivated individual who has superior interpersonal skills to join the team as Logistics Services Representative or Partner in our Reserve, LA office. This position will be a hybrid role working Monday- Friday.
In this role, your days are spent getting commodities to our customers reliably, timely, and in a manner that positively impacts our bottom line. This job requires careful planning and a series of trade-offs that need to be constantly re-evaluated. Each day is a huge optimization problem where you weigh the pros and cons of different decisions, sweat the details, and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
What you will be doing:
• Managing a river segment including boats, barges, vendors, and customers
• Coordinating equipment to meet customer commitments effectively and efficiently
• Creating and executing orders for our vessels to deliver owed freight to our customers
• Actively planning - identifying potential impacts to customers, equipment, etc.
• Communicating directly with customers and vendors to ensure we are meeting their demands
• Communicating updates on equipment and vessel planning to customers, docks, vendors, and vessels
• Tracking billing information and partnering with Accounting to resolve any issues
• Providing customer support team with necessary information to ensure information systems are accurate
