Position Summary:
This is a full-time position at 32 hours per week in a high-volume laboratory setting. While additional hours are not guaranteed, the role qualifies for full benefits. The schedule does not include weekends or holidays. Salary is based on an annual total of 1,664 worked hours.
Job Responsibilities:
The Cytotechnologist will utilize advanced, state-of-the-art instrumentation. Candidates must have experience with GYN and non-GYN screenings, as well as fine needle aspiration procedures. Familiarity with cytology specimen processing is preferred.
The primary responsibility will be the microscopic evaluation of Pap smears. Additional responsibilities include:
Processing of non-GYN specimens
Assisting with fine needle aspiration procedures
Microscopic evaluation of non-GYN specimens
Pap smear registration and accessioning
Pap smear processing and staining
Stainer maintenance
While support staff typically handle processing, registration, and accessioning, Cytotechnologists are expected to provide coverage during PTO, FMLA, call-offs, or when volume demands.
