Job Description

Interco is seeking a Graphic Design and Software Development Intern to join a dynamic software development team with the responsibility of designing social media content and contributing to the company's software projects. This position calls for a versatile skillset as the ideal candidate will have experience using design tools and will possess a strong understanding of software development. The position is full-time and will require the candidate to work on-site Monday through Friday. 

Qualifications

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and create social media graphics for advertising and recruiting 
  • Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for internal software 
  • Ensure all visuals align with company’s brand identity 
  • Write clean, maintainable code for web and/or mobile applications 
  • Collaborate with team members for API integration and to ensure designs are in alignment with the company’s goals 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a technical degree 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and exposure to Figma 
  • A strong eye for design and attention to detail 
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React 
  • Proficiency with at least one major programming language such as JavaScript, Java, Python, etc. 

Additional Information

Compensation:

  • $15 per Hour
  • This Internship does not offer additional benefits

About Interco

Interco has been recycling computers, batteries, metals, and electronics with a focused track record of innovation and integrity since 1996. The company specializes in the placement of smelter-ready materials catering to commercial, industrial, dealer, and government organizations nationwide.  

The Interco recycling facilities are separated into three departments: nonferrous metals, computers and electronics, and battery processing. The nonferrous facility is located on the 40-acre main campus in Madison (IL) while the computers and electronics are processed in Edwardsville where the Administrative and some logistics offices are located. The commercial department is located on The Hill in St. Louis. 

    As a matter of company policy, Interco does not sponsor employment visas or hire from outside of the USA, nor does the company sponsor candidates who do not currently reside within the USA without an existing H-1B visa.
