About This Position
Due to our expected growth over the coming year, we are looking to bring on a talented individual to join our growing team! The Senior Manager of GL accounting will play a key role in the accounting department. You will be a strategic leader responsible for the oversight of the general ledger function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, driving process improvements within the accounting department and ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations and company policies. This position will report directly to the Accounting Director.
Overview of Department
The Accounting team is part of the Corporate Finance department. The Accounting team currently consists of 14 members, covering both month-end close and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties- Oversee the team responsible for day-to-day accounting operations and monthly close cycles.
- Mentor and develop the existing team (4 total direct/indirect reports), fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment, while providing training and performance management.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations, including internal controls.
- Work towards consolidating the month-end close schedule to enable faster and more accurate reporting.
- Evaluate and optimize accounting processes and systems, leveraging technology and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy and streamlining workflows.
- Drive system implementations or improvements, providing technical expertise and ensuring smooth transitions.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration, fostering relationships with other teams to support organizational goals.
- Continuously monitor and assess job responsibilities, adapting to evolving priorities and the changing needs of the team.
Qualifications and Skills- THIS ROLE REQUIRES EXPERIENCE WITH GENERAL LEDGER STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TEAM LEADERSHIP
- 8-10 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong grasp of accounting principles and internal control environments
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and ability to proactively connect with the company as a remote employee
- Innovative thinking
- Experience directly managing the GL function and teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- CPA or Masters Degree in Accounting
Desirable
- Experience with or knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus
- Experience in renewables is a plus
- Mid-level experience with Excel (SumIF, pivot tables and V-lookup)

Salary & Benefits- Salary: $150,000 - $160,000USD base salary with 25% annual target bonus
