Public Relations and Communications Manager

The Public Relations and Communications Manager will help build and strengthen IonQ's reputation by developing and executing communications and public relations activities that support IonQ’s business objectives. These efforts will continue demonstrating IonQ’s leadership in quantum computing and networking. This is an individual contributor role.

Under the direction of the Vice President of PR and Communications, they will help develop messaging and communications activities across traditional and social media, digital channels and other platforms to engage media, investors, analysts, policy makers, and industry thought leaders. They will also create content that enhances and elevates IonQ’s brand awareness as a quantum computing and networking leader.

Responsibilities: 

• Develops and manages a wide variety of communications content including press releases, media statements, social media posts, and key messaging documents and FAQs. 
• Responsible for developing and implementing high impact external communication materials that raise the visibility of IonQ’s core areas of focus through various media, and lead to clear business outcomes, in alignment with company’s values.
• Helps develop media materials and communications plans for industry events, major company milestones, company announcements, product launches, business development activities and awareness campaigns. 
• Supports media relations activity, including managing media inquiries and developing media briefings to support IonQ’s senior leadership. 
• Serves as media relations contact and spokesperson when appropriate.
• Working with business and product marketing teams and outside agencies, supports marketing programming and campaigns with earned media and the development of social media content.
• Leverages content and campaigns across all external and internal communications platforms including company website and social media. 
• Working with agency partners, oversees media monitoring and reporting across the business.

 
You’d be a good fit with:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising/Public Relations, or related field required. 
• 3-5 years of proven communications experience in corporate, product or executive communications. 
• Excellent writing, editing, communication and presentation skills are required along with a demonstrated ability to create high impact strategic external communications.

You’d be a great fit with:

• 5+ years of proven communications experience in corporate, product or executive communications. 
• Well-versed in multimedia communications platforms.
• Previous technology communications and agency experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, working at all levels and across geographies as well as juggle projects without sacrificing the quality of deliverables.
• Collaborative partner with keen ability to effectively listen, distill information, think creatively and deliver communications that drive results.
• Travel requirements of up to 4-6 times a year for both internal and external events.
  
  

Location: This role can work onsite or hybrid from one of our offices located in Bothell, WA, or College Park, MD, or can be remote for the right candidate

The approximate base salary range for this position is $88,555 - $111,201. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.
