Senior Systems Engineer -Spacecraft/ Lunar Lander

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of lunar landers and spacecraft. This position requires expertise in systems engineering principles, hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work across disciplines to ensure mission success. You will be responsible for defining requirements, leading systems integration, managing risks, and ensuring the spacecraft meets performance and reliability standards. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements development, verification, and validation planning for spacecraft systems. 
  • Manage spacecraft technical budgets, including mass, power, and propellant, with a focus on optimization and margin application. 
  • Oversee the coordination of interfaces and system-level design activities across multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Perform architecture trade studies and technical analyses to guide system design decisions. 
  • Develop and execute system-level test plans and procedures to validate design integrity. 
  • Collaborate with subsystem leads to manage risk, failure detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) strategies. 
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and foster technical excellence within the team. 
  • Support technical proposals and contribute to new mission concepts and opportunities. 


Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years experience, BS/BA, Masters or combination of equivalent experience and education
  • Expertise in spacecraft subsystem integration, requirements management, and risk analysis. 
  • Strong understanding of engineering tools and software, including CAD and finite element analysis tools. 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or related field. 
  • Extensive experience in FMECA, reliability analysis, and adherence to NASA or similar aerospace standards. 
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and startup environment 


$135,000 - $179,000 a year
The salary range posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.

This includes:
