Classification Specialist

IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking an experienced Classification Specialist to support our VA-ESOM- End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States. The VA is responsible for providing comprehensive onsite and remote support to IT customers across all VA Administrations and special program offices, including direct support of over 340,000 VA employees and thousands of contractors who use government-furnished IT equipment and infrastructure. The VA provides support staff across 100+ CONUS and OCONUS locations including difficult-to-accommodate locales, such as high cost of living or under supported economic areas, where VA offices or facilities may be located and require onsite services. 

Location: This position can be performed in a remote working environment and will be supporting Eastern Time working hours. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic review to identify problems and recognize best practices in position management.
  • Ensure command-wide position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying position classification standards.
  • Audit classification actions in accordance with VA regulations, policies and guidance.
  • Explain results of classification findings and the evaluation conclusion to supervisory personnel as requested
  • Position descriptions: Collaborates with management and supervisors to create or revise position descriptions
  • Classification: Documents the correct assignment of grades, legal titles, and occupational series
  • Staffing regulations: Interprets and explains complex staffing regulations
  • Personnel actions: Assists with personnel actions like promotions, pay changes, and reassignments
  • Position reviews: Conducts reviews and surveys to recommend changes to positions
  • Classification decisions: Explains classification decisions to employees, supervisors, and managers
  • Position management: Evaluates position management and helps improve structure and work distribution
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support through close collaboration with VA ESOM Contract Workforce planning and Analytics lead
  • AA or 2-year technical school in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Accountability, Analysis and Research and Attention to Detail
  • Customer Service mindset, Decision Making, Flexibility, Influencing/Negotiating
  • Quick Learner with Integrity/Honesty, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good at reading Comprehension, Reasoning, and writing
  • Able to self-manage work, manage stress and show team-spirit.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting a federal client.
  • Experience with IT asset logistics

Clearance requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
  • Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
