Senior Director Medical Affairs - Contract/On-Site/20hrs/wk

Jasper is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing briquilimab, a novel antibody targeting c-Kit (CD117) as a therapeutic for chronic mast and stem cell diseases. Jasper is currently conducting clinical studies of briquilimab as a treatment in patients with CSU or with CIndU and is initiating a clinical study in patients with asthma. Briquilimab is also currently in clinical studies as a treatment for patients with LR-MDS and as a conditioning agent for cell therapies for rare diseases. To date, briquilimab has a demonstrated efficacy and safety profile in more than 160 dosed participants and healthy volunteers, with clinical outcomes in CIndU, and as a conditioning agent in severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), Fanconi anemia (FA), and sickle cell disease (SCD).


Job Summary
  • Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Senior Director of Medical Affairs will play a crucial role in bridging our clinical development programs with the healthcare and patient communities. This position will lead the Medical Affairs team in creating and implementing strategies that support our pipeline's clinical and commercial objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical affairs within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, a deep understanding of the clinical development process, and the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences. 
  • (This is a 20hr/wk, contract position. MUST be onsite)


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the medical affairs strategy, aligning with the company’s clinical development plans and commercial goals. 
  • Lead and mentor the Medical Affairs team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups relevant to the company's therapeutic areas. 
  • Oversee the development and dissemination of scientific and medical information, including publications, educational materials, and presentations. 
  • Provide medical and scientific expertise to support cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing. 
  • Design and implement clinical advisory boards and scientific meetings. 
  • Lead the development and execution of post-marketing clinical activities, including real-world evidence studies and investigator-initiated trials. 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards related to medical and scientific communications and activities. 
  • Acquire external resources and oversee agency deployed in support of Jasper programs 
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations under the MLR standards 
  • Lead and organize congress planning and support 
  • Oversee Grants and Sponsorships 
  • Ensure appropriate oversight and organization of ISTs, Compassionate Use programs, early access programs and post approval studies 
  • Create a framework of Thought leader and KOL development to ensure Jasper is highly engaged in the scientific field 


Qualifications
  • MD, PharmD, or PhD in a relevant scientific field. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in amedical affairs leadership role. 
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing medical affairs strategies that support clinical development and product launch. 
  • Extensive network of KOLs and healthcare professionals in relevant therapeutic areas. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific conceptsto varied audiences. 
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory and ethical considerations in medical affairs.
