Head of Sales & Customer Success

JOBJACK is seeking a dynamic, growth-oriented Head of Sales & Customer Success to take charge of our revenue-generating functions. This leader will be primarily focused on new business acquisition and building scalable growth strategies, while also ensuring a strong customer success framework for upsells and retention.

This role requires a hands-on sales leader who is comfortable closing deals themselves while building and optimizing a high-performance sales and revenue engine. You will inherit a small sales team (1-2 members) and will play a crucial role in growing the function as we scale. While marketing is an existing function within the company, you will be expected to work closely with the team to ensure an aligned go-to-market strategy that fuels demand generation and identifies where marketing must also drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Execution: Take full ownership of new business sales, leading from the front by closing deals and coaching the existing team.
  • Exco: Bring in extensive sales and customer success experience in setting JOBJACK’s strategic direction as part of the core leadership team.
  • Revenue Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute a scalable revenue strategy that can drive sustained growth across industries in South Africa and, eventually, new geographies.
  • Customer Success & Expansion: Oversee customer success initiatives to ensure high retention, maximize upsells, and establish a strong feedback loop for continuous product improvement.
  • Sales Process & Performance: Optimize sales methodologies, implement best practices, and introduce tools and automation to enhance efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing to align demand generation efforts with sales execution, ensuring a seamless pipeline flow and identifying where marketing must also drive revenue growth.
  • Hiring & Team Growth: Build, mentor, and expand the sales team over time, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand into new industries and geographic markets.
  • A proven sales leader with a track record of successfully closing deals and building high-growth sales functions.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on selling role while also thinking strategically about scaling revenue operations.
  • Experience is B2B SaaS, recruitment technology, HR tech, or related industries is a strong advantage.
  • Highly analytical, data-driven, and able to build predictable revenue models.
  • Exceptional communicator and relationship builder, skilled at engaging with mid-to-large enterprise clients.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment where resilience is key.
  • Experience working in South African markets is essential; exposure to expanding businesses internationally is a plus.
