Financial Controller - CE

Join us at Karo Healthcare on our exciting journey. We're currently looking for a Financial Controller - CE for our office in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and approve balance sheet reconciliations done by the CoE accountants
  • Tax & VAT compliance
  • Prepare country specific BS reconciliations
  • Report and sign-off in AARO, Adra and BI (incl sales confirmation for the legal entities in scope)
  • Second approval of outgoing payments (e.g., AP, Payroll, tax, other manual bank payments)
  • Intercompany reconciliation, e.g. ensure issuance of transfer pricing invoices
  • Overall responsible for the Fixed asset register and balances, including but not limited to the understanding of the impact of and implementation of new acquisitions
  • P/L and Balance Sheet review, incl fluctuation analysis per legal entity in scope, the full scope of accounts and transactions for the legal entity
  • Taking an active role in the implementation of internal controls and policies to ensure Karo comply with the identified internal control audit framework, including performing continuous internal controls, identify gaps and working closely with the Internal Audit function
  • Identify and support in continuous improvement opportunities within the finance function, support in training of new employees. · Ensure compliance with IFRS and if applicable local GAAP and bridges between the two
  • Contact person and coordinator for external and internal audits
  • Annual reports and financial statements
  • Key input to Financial reporting cycle and all other relevant finance cycles
  • Taking an active role in driving efficiency and projects related to accounting and finance processes
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a financial controller role or similar position
  • Fluent in English, both writing and speaking
  • Experience and understanding of integrated ERP software
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end processes such as Order to cash, Purchase to pay and Record to Report
  • In-depth knowledge of Accounting principles and an understanding of IFRS
  • Ability to analyse, support and guide in complex accounting problems e.g. hedge accounting, cash pool, VAT, complex personnel related issues, corp insurances, deferred tax
  • Advanced user of excel and other digital tools as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and to make decisions in a complex environment
