Battery Technical Specialist

About the Role

The Battery Technical Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and supporting reverse engineering efforts and technical tests on lithium-ion battery cells within the company’s intellectual property activities. You will collaborate with a team of experts, oversee projects, optimize testing protocols, and assist in analyzing data for patent and licensing purposes. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background in battery technology, strong organizational skills, and an interest in working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Source and coordinate batteries and battery cells through external partners
  • Lead and support technical experts in the tear-down and reverse engineering of battery cells
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, improve, and perform tests on battery cells and their components
  • Analyze test data to identify key characteristics of battery cells
  • Assist in developing and validating testing protocols
  • Respond to technical queries and data requests from clients and partners
  • Present test results to internal stakeholders
  • Provide technical support in patent-related activities
  • .Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s or higher preferred)
  • Strong understanding of lithium-ion batteries, particularly in thermal, electrical, and mechanical aspects
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • 5+ years of experience in the battery industry
  • Hands-on experience in product testing and lifecycle management
  • Experience with patents or intellectual property
