Finance Controller Assistant #1508

We are a fast-growing regulated utility dedicated to providing dependable service and sustainable energy solutions throughout the U.S. In the role of Controller Assistant, you will play a critical part in our leadership team, managing financial operations and reporting responsibilities. Your primary duties will include managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and developing budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements that comply with GAAP standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for stakeholders.
  • Assist with regulatory filing compliance.
  • Manage daily accounting operations for accurate transaction recording.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
  • Support external audits and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track financial performance indicators to enhance profitability.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and utility regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with utility regulations to enhance reputation.
  • Support financial initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing training and feedback.
  • Collaborate with departments for improved financial decision-making.
  • Assist the Controller with projects to uncover growth opportunities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA or CMA certification is a plus)
  • At least 5 years of accounting or financial experience, ideally within a regulated industry
  • Deep understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience related to regulatory compliance
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in the utility industry
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing utilities

  • Attractive salary potential, reaching up to $135,000
