Job Description

This newly created position will lead all business development initiatives for Keypath Education’s new stand-alone clinical placement services. The Vice President will be responsible for developing the strategy, planning, selling, and contract negotiation/execution with prospective university and other consumer partners. The qualified candidate will produce compelling presentations and carry credibility with senior audiences. This position reports directly to our Chief Executive Officer and will work directly with members of our senior leadership team to earn the trust of university and other industry leaders to create mutually beneficial partnerships.

What You will Be Doing as the Vice President, Business Development – Placement Services

  • Research and identify compelling data on clinical placement services, universities, and other potential consumers to create sales presentations
  • Leverage a curious approach to thoroughly understand consumer challenges and identify innovative solutions
  • Enlist time and expertise from Keypath colleagues to assist with various stages of the sales process Demonstrate interpersonal skills to build trust and foster collaboration among internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with other staff that support the sales process; organize and lead the development of proposal strategies that focus on Keypath Education’s financial positioning, product offerings, and value in the higher education marketplace
  • Leverage the expertise of internal partners to support you in building the brand messaging
  • Collaborate creatively to differentiate Keypath's services in a competitive market
  • Develop and drive key objectives and alignment between potential partners and Keypath Education
  • Work closely with senior leadership to build the marketing plan, including how to target and close specific services in specific schools
  • Negotiate business terms to establish mutually beneficial partner agreements; utilize outstanding negotiation skills paired with resilience to close challenging deals successfully
  • Manage partner relationships throughout the lifecycle of identification/discovery, enablement, support, and go-to-market.
  • Communicate and make formal presentations to senior-level audiences within the higher education sector
  • Call on new clients to conduct a needs analysis and explain features of services, costs, and advantages
  • Using a Solution Selling sales approach, work with prospective and existing clients to determine needs and develop the appropriate sales strategy to secure new services
  • Keep Sales CRM data current; provide summaries of strategy calls and onsite visits, identify deliverables, and establish timeframes for contract execution; leverage tech savviness to maintain accurate, actionable records and insights
  • Manage the proposal process by coordinating with appropriate areas of the organization to ensure timeliness and quality of Master Agreements and Term Sheets consistent with Keypath Education’s Business Development Strategic Objectives and Profitability Analysis
  • Contribute to the overall success of the business as a key member of the leadership team

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus

Experience:

  • 10+ years of a successful, demonstrable record of accomplishment in business development
  • Experience with selling into Higher Education sector
  • Experience selling into complex environments
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with developing and structuring agreements to support Keypath Education and partner objectives
  • Experience with fee-for-service business development initiatives

  • Exceptional at building and nurturing relationships, fostering trust, and strengthening connections with clients and stakeholders

  • Demonstrated success working independently while managing concurrent activities
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Tech-savviness to leverage tools like CRM platforms for strategic decision-making
  • Ability to travel as needed

Additional Information

Our salary structure and compensation philosophy reflect the value we place on our employees' experience, education, and skills. We pride ourselves on offering a competitive and fair total rewards package that considers the market.

The base salary range for this position is between USD $135,000-$165,000 (+ commission plan) with actual pay adjusted based on factors such as experience, location, market conditions, departmental budgets, and job responsibilities.
