What You’ll Do:

In this dual-role position, you’ll blend clinical expertise with administrative support to provide outstanding care and service. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent utilizing your extensive nursing knowledge and emotional intelligence, while 30% will be spent supporting front office/medical assistant staff and providing your administrative acumen for continued improvement of the services we provide.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily clinical operations, including front desk flow, back office flow, and general communications between staff members and physicians.
  • Assist in rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and performing medical procedures as needed including wound care.
  • Assess and triage urgent walk in patients using protocols and clinical skills.
  • Address clinical concerns of patients arriving into the office in person, via phone, portal, or text.
  • Handle prescription refills and provide patient education and support for activities such as self-administered medications, glucometer setup, home blood pressure exams, and wound care  as directed by the physician.
  • Support the physician in providing care for homebound patients. 

Administrative

  • Oversee the facility maintenance and manage supplies, medications, and vaccination inventories to ensure seamless office functionality.
  • Ensure practice compliance and regulatory adherence, such as HIPAA, OSHA, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure continued needed service and troubleshoot those relationships as necessary. 
  • Train and manage the Front Office/Medical Assistant staff and conduct performance reviews.
  • Provide the primary contact role for patient membership billing.

Who You Are:

You are a skilled multitasker passionate about delivering excellent patient care and operational efficiency. As the Outpatient Nurse and Office Administrator, you work closely with the physician, ensuring seamless communication, anticipating the practice’s needs, and proactively addressing urgent and routine matters to keep the practice running smoothly. You have keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to supporting the physician and the practice's overall success.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN or LVN license.
  • Deep clinical knowledge base including  medical terminology and medications, common adult primary care clinical concerns, and routine outpatient procedures including wound care.
  • Complete knowledge of front desk responsibilities and flow including patient registration, insurance verification and referrals.
  • Experience with triaging patients. 
  • Strong clinical communication skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Hospital, or Skilled Nursing Facility settings.
  • Well-versed in using an EMR system, proficiency with Epic software  preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.

Total Compensation: This role offers a base salary range of up to $105,000 depending on experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) + match when vested, as well as paid time off.
