Credit Underwriter – Floorplan Financing

As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in our success by ensuring that credit decisions align with our risk management policies while fostering strong relationships with our sales team and dealer network.

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Credit Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in credit analysis, a strong understanding of UCC filings, and the ability to communicate effectively with both sales teams and dealers. Familiarity with the automotive industry is a plus. This role reports directly to the Director of Floorplan Financing.

• Analyze credit applications and financial documents (including Experian credit reports, tax returns, and financial statements) to assess creditworthiness
• Review UCC filings and Purchase Money Security Interests (PMSIs) to ensure the company’s collateral is properly secured
• Collaborate closely with the sales team to facilitate smooth communication with dealers while maintaining credit standards
• Provide clear and concise credit decisions, balancing risk management with dealer relationship goals
• Utilize DecisionLogic and other bank verification tools to assess financial stability and cash flow
• Monitor and assess existing dealer accounts to identify potential risks or opportunities for increased credit lines
• Assist in developing and refining underwriting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and risk management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in credit underwriting, preferably within the automotive or floorplan financing industry
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting credit reports (e.g., Experian) and financial statements
• Strong understanding of UCC filings, PMSIs, and other secured lending practices
• Knowledge of the automotive industry and dealership operations is a plus
• Experience with DecisionLogic or similar bank verification tools preferred

• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in financial documents and credit reports
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to evaluate risk, assess creditworthiness, and make informed decisions
• Communication Skills: Capable of conveying credit decisions clearly to sales teams and dealers
• Relationship Building: Skilled in fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Problem-Solving: Creative thinker who can navigate complex credit situations while balancing risk and opportunity
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel, CRM systems, and credit analysis tools
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
