Liferaft is seeking an Associate Product Manager to join our Product team for the duration of a parental leave cover. This role is expected to last 3-4 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent if budget allows. This role is tactical in nature, supporting the successful delivery of feature improvements, cross-functional communication, and industry-informed product development.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Senior Product Managers, Engineering, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to ensure features are prioritized, releases are coordinated, and customer needs are understood and documented.

The Associate Product Manager will report directly to the VP, Product.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize and Maintain the Feature Backlog: Ensure that tickets are refined, prioritized, and aligned with product objectives and timelines.
- Facilitate Cross-Team Coordination: Serve as the liaison between Engineering and GTM teams to support smooth feature releases and communications.
- Support Concept Ideation: Collaborate with Product Managers and Senior Product Managers during early-stage ideation and concept development.
- Assist with Customer Discovery: Participate in customer interviews, note-taking, and preparing structured discovery documentation.
- Document Customer Insights: Maintain clear, organized, and actionable records of customer feedback and discovery sessions.
- Monitor Industry Trends: Research and report on trends, competitive movements, and emerging opportunities to inform product strategy.
Expected Outcomes
- Feature Backlog Management:
Backlog is consistently well-organized, with tickets clearly prioritized and ready for engineering sprints. PMs/Sr PMs can rely on the backlog being “sprint ready” at all times. - Cross-Functional Coordination:
Engineering and GTM teams are well-informed of upcoming releases, and feedback loops are efficiently managed during launch cycles. - Customer Discovery Support:
High-quality customer discovery notes and structured documentation are produced consistently, contributing directly to product decision-making and new feature ideation. - Concept Development Contribution:
Provides early input and research support during concept ideation sessions, enabling faster validation or rejection of ideas. - Industry Trend Reporting:
Delivers regular, insightful trend reports that highlight competitive moves, new technologies, and potential threats or opportunities relevant to LifeRaft’s product roadmap. - Process Improvements:
Identifies and suggests improvements for product processes, including backlog management, documentation practices, or communication flows, resulting in greater team efficiency.
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
- 1–2 years of experience in a Product Management, Product Analyst, or equivalent tactical product support role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills — able to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile development processes and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, ProdPad, Trello).
- Basic understanding of product discovery techniques (user interviews, customer journey mapping, etc.).
- Detail-oriented, with strong documentation and note-taking skills.
- Curious mindset with a passion for learning about customers and emerging trends.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
