The Team

We’re the eCommerce Extensibility team at Lightspeed. Our goal is to make the platform ridiculously easy to customize and integrate with, so merchants can shape their online stores to fit their unique needs. We build the APIs, tools, and systems that enable developers and partners to extend our platform - functionally and visually.

You’ll be joining a team that’s shaping how merchants and partners build on top of Lightspeed.

This role is based in the Netherlands.

What you’ll be doing:

We’re looking for an experienced Staff Developer with a focus on Front-End technologies and expertise in Vue.Js. You will work on our flagship eCommerce product and own the delivery of major features from the design phase to the production release.        With strong technical expertise in building scalable & resilient systems and a passion for mentoring others, you will take an active role in leading your team to successfully land key initiatives and have the opportunity to work with multiple technology stacks, big data, building and maintaining distributed systems, and everything in between.

• Design and evolve the extensibility layer of our platform
• Build developer-facing tooling that enables full customizations
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to shape both technical direction and product experience
• Be a mentor and technical leader within our frontend chapter
• Keep an eye on security updates and issues found with Vue.js and all project dependencies
• Propose any upgrades and updates necessary for keeping up with modern security and development best practices
• Stay up-to-date with all recent developments in the JavaScript and Vue.js space

What you need to bring to the team:

• Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean JavaScript/TypeScript code
• Proficiency with Vue.js framework and its core principles such as components, reactivity, and the virtual DOM
• Proficiency with modern development tools, like Vite, Git
• Experience with both consuming and designing RESTful APIs
• Full working proficiency in English
• An appetite for learning

Even better if you have, but not necessary:

• Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases
• Familiarity with automated JavaScript testing, specifically testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha
• Knowledge of eCommerce / POS systems
