Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Columbus, Ohio facility. This role oversees two team managers and will be responsible for warehouse management, logistics, inventory control, kitting operations, and ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distribution center operations, be knowledgeable about warehouse staffing models, and have a keen focus on streamlining packaging costs and increasing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse & Distribution Management:
    • Oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of crafting supplies.
    • Ensure a well-organized warehouse with optimized space utilization.
    • Implement best practices for safety, quality control, and productivity.
    • Develop and optimize warehouse staffing models to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Kitting & Custom Fabric Cutting:
    • Manage the assembly of products into kits with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
    • Oversee the cut-on-demand fabric process to meet customer specifications.
    • Ensure quality control measures are in place for all kitting and cutting operations.
  • Inventory & Order Fulfillment:
    • Maintain accurate inventory tracking and stock levels.
    • Implement effective inventory management processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
    • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to meet customer expectations.
  • Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization:
    • Identify and implement ways to streamline packing materials and reduce per-package shipping costs.
    • Increase pick and pack productivity by optimizing workflows and technology.
    • Monitor and improve order accuracy and processing times.
  • Technology & Systems:
    • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to improve efficiency.
    • Familiarity with NetSuite and Numina systems is a plus.
    • Leverage automation and data analytics to enhance decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and kitting teams to maximize performance.
    • Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork and accountability.
    • Develop performance metrics and ensure continuous improvement in operations.
  • Customer Experience & Service Excellence:
    • Ensure orders are packed with care and delivered on time.
    • Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve order issues promptly.
    • Implement process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.

Under the Direction of the Corporate Human Resource Team, Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • New Hires:
    • Coordinate and perform onboarding and orientation programs.
      • Drug test
      • Collection of proper identification
      • Review Employee Handbook of policies and procedures
  • Employee Relations & Engagement:
    • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely manner.
    • Mediate disputes and facilitate conflict resolution processes.
    • Promote open communication and a positive workplace culture.
    • Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback for improvement.
  • HR Compliance & Policies:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies.
    • Maintain up-to-date employee documentation.
    • Assist in drafting, implementing, and updating department policies.
    • Conduct regular audits of employee attendance along with time comparisons between ADP and Timeclock.
  • Workplace Investigations:
    • Conduct internal investigations related to employee complaints, discrimination, or misconduct.
    • Document findings and recommend appropriate actions.
    • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure fair and lawful resolutions.
  • Performance Management & Training:
    • Develop and oversee performance review processes.
    • Help identify employee training and development needs.
    • Facilitate training sessions and mandatory workshops.
  • Compensation & Benefits Administration:
    • Assist in handling leaves of absence, insurance, and retirement plan enrollments.
    • Manage employee incentive programs.

      • Annual Productivity Increases
  • Office/Procurement:
    • Manage inventory levels and purchase office, breakroom and facilities supplies
    • Coordinate PM’s for interior and exterior of the building
      • Waste removal- corrugated and trash
      • Landscaping
      • Snow Removal

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in distribution center, warehouse, or logistics management.
  • Experience in kitting, assembly operations, or custom order fulfillment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse best practices.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and Numina systems is a plus.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Experience in optimizing warehouse staffing models and improving fulfillment efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) and small package logistics.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

The salary of $125,000 for a Distribution Center Manager in Columbus, Ohio, typically aligns with candidates who have:

  • 10+ years of experience in distribution, warehousing, or logistics management.
  • Extensive experience in managing large teams (often 50+ employees).
  • Proven success in optimizing warehouse operations, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency.
  • Strong background in inventory management, order fulfillment, and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with warehouse automation, WMS systems (such as NetSuite and Numina), and logistics software.

Candidates at this level may have worked as:

  • Senior Warehouse Manager (8-10 years of experience).
  • Operations Manager in a distribution or fulfillment center (8-12 years of experience).
  • Director-level roles in smaller warehouses before moving into a high-volume DC.

$125,000 per year.
