Description

What we need

We are looking for an experienced Data engineer manager, able to take the initiative in building and maintaining an internal data repository to support ThoughtSpot, and Tableau, enable our BI users to make better-informed decisions and manage a team of two data engineers.

Today we have data stored in a combination of locations: Clickhouse, Postgres, and Elastic Search, and users either use the reporting capability within our products, which was designed to support clients tracking their activity rather than for detailed internal BI, or use one or more ad hoc extracts pulled into Tableau or ThoughtSpot. 

You will identify opportunities to improve the process.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnering with our Product Team and in particular the Product Manager, you will identify the core data required within the platform (based on the needs from Finance and/or Business Development teams)
  • Analysing and organising the raw data from different sources
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture exposing data from our databases into Tableau
  • Creating data systems and pipelines to ensure data is current and accurate
  • Exploring ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Working with other engineers to create a Tableau reporting environment

You’ll have

  • 5+ years experience in a data engineering role and 2+ in a managerial role
  • Experience with a range of database technologies including Clickhouse, Postgres and ElasticSearch, BigQuery
  • Technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Hands-on experience with SQL / NoSQL databases
  • Experience in cloud-based technologies running on GCS and/or AWS 
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
