We are looking for a Technical Writer / Learning Specialist Trainee to strengthen our User Guidance and Learning team for the summer. This position serves as a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in user guidance and learning while working with a knowledge work automation product that is changing the market. We are offering a paid fixed-term contract for four months, starting in May.
 
What you will be doing 

As a Technical Writer / Learning Specialist Trainee, you'll contribute to the team's success in creating easily understandable user guidance and high-value learning experiences. The mission of the team is to help both technical and non-technical M-Files users get the most value out of M-Files. After completing your onboarding program, you'll get a chance to assist the team in a variety of tasks ranging from daily operations to internal development projects. 

You'll be taking part in managing our Learning Management System to ensure customers have access to our digital learning content. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the monthly updates to user guides and localizations continue smoothly during the vacation period. You'll also help us unify our content according to guidelines in an ongoing project.
 
Additional tasks of the team that might become part of your responsibilities:

• Reviewing customer-facing product documentation
• Designing new user interface texts
• Updating learning content, such as videos and courses

What we expect from you 

• Pursuing or recently completed a relevant degree program
• Excellent communication skills in English and Finnish
• Understanding of structured documentation
• Familiarity with MS Office
• Proficiency in navigating complex software environments and using different tools, systems, and processes
• Attention to detail 

In addition, these are an advantage:

• Working experience in technical communication, digital learning, or localization
• Capability to write content according to the DITA standard
• Experience with Talent LMS, WordPress, Oxygen XML Editor, SDL Passolo, and Git
• Graphic design skills
• Video editing skills
  
  

Preferred Location: Tampere, Finland, but for the right candidate, Helsinki can be considered.

This is a paid fixed-term contract for four months, starting in May 2025 (start date can be agreed).

The salary will depend on your study credits and will range between 2200-2880 EUR/month.
