SAP EWM Consultant

The SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) Consultant will be responsible for analyzing, enhancing, and optimizing SAP EWM solutions within a support organization. This role focuses on continuous improvements, system enhancements, and issue resolution to ensure the smooth operation of warehouse processes. The consultant will collaborate with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders to implement best practices, enhance system performance, and support day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Enhancements & Continuous Improvements
• Identify, design, and implement SAP EWM system enhancements to optimize warehouse processes.
• Work with business users to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
• Develop, test, and deploy EWM enhancements, including RF screens, PPF actions, and custom developments.
• Perform impact assessments for system changes and ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules.
2. Support & Issue Resolution
• Provide L2/L3 support for SAP EWM incidents, troubleshooting functional and technical issues.
• Analyze recurring system issues and recommend permanent fixes or process improvements.
• Collaborate with SAP Basis, ABAP, and Infrastructure teams to resolve system performance issues.
• Maintain documentation for support processes, enhancements, and issue resolutions.
3. Process Optimization & Performance Improvements
• Assess existing warehouse operations and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Support warehouse automation and integration projects involving EWM with third-party logistics systems.
• Optimize warehouse strategies (e.g., slotting, putaway, picking, replenishment) to improve productivity.
• Ensure compliance with best practices and SAP standard functionalities while implementing improvements.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
• Work closely with warehouse operations, IT, and business stakeholders to align system capabilities with business needs.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to key users and support teams on new enhancements.
• Act as a bridge between business users and the technical team to ensure smooth communication and implementation of changes.
5. Change Management & Documentation
• Maintain and update configuration and process documentation related to SAP EWM enhancements.
• Participate in change management activities, ensuring smooth deployment of new functionalities.
• Support audits and compliance requirements by maintaining accurate system documentation.

• Technical Expertise:
• Strong functional knowledge of SAP EWM, including inbound, outbound, warehouse monitoring, and RF framework.
• Experience with SAP EWM enhancements, including custom developments, BADIs, user exits, and enhancements in SAP S/4HANA EWM.
• Understanding of integration with SAP MM, SD, and TM modules.
• Knowledge of warehouse automation systems, barcode scanning, and interfaces with third-party logistics providers.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in SAP EWM implementation, support, or enhancement roles.
• Hands-on experience with EWM configuration and business process mapping.
• Prior experience in a support organization handling SAP EWM issues and improvements.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP EWM certification is a plus.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for enhancement projects.
• Understanding of S/4HANA EWM innovations and roadmap.
