We are now seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and driven Sales Development Representative in India! The role will play a critical role in driving our growth by identifying, engaging with new business opportunities within the education and corporate training sectors. Reporting to the Sales Development Representative Team Lead, you will be responsible for identifying our potential sales opportunities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and achieving ambitious targets.
This role will leverage your expertise in SaaS sales to hunt for new prospects, negotiate complex situations and qualify leads, and work on them with your Sales counterparts to convert them into high-value contracts. The ability to understand prospect’s needs, articulate the value of our solutions, and navigate through the sales cycle with tenacity and finesse will be key to success. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, and innovative environment.
What your new job can look like…
At Moodle, no two days will ever be the same, but most days in this role usually involve a mix of:
- Working closely with the Partners and Service Providers to provide high quality leads.
- Supporting the sales life cycle by managing inbound leads, and helping qualify leads before they are allocated to respective Sales and Partners teams.
- Identifying, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities that are not suitable for allocation to Partners.
- Following-up opportunities either with Partners or directly with the end customer, as needed.
- Identifying prospect needs and suggesting appropriate products/services. Presenting and explaining the benefits of Moodle products and services to customers.
- Making sure customers understand the value of Moodle’s offering and that we have a clear view on their needs and how to best address them. Building positive relationships with customers, following up on direct opportunities proactively and promptly.
- Tracking and ensuring agreed period goals are met.
- Preparing monthly sales pipeline and conversion reports and dashboards.
- Working with the marketing team, coordinating mailing campaigns and calling campaigns aimed at targeting prospects to drive sales and qualify/assign leads to our service providers, cross-selling new services into existing customers.
- Recycling partner rejected or MoodleCloud free trial leads that do not convert. Also examples such as BMA leads from universities that have built their own BMA but needs updating.
- Creating & maintaining SDR team resources and process documentation.
- Engaging in other project work to improve processes, customer experience and commercial performance.

Especially if you have:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in B2B Sales or Sales Development Process, with a focus on strategic sales management.
- Proven ability to leverage technology for prospecting and territory management
- Strong ability to identify prospect needs and present appropriate products/services with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth.
- Passion about making an impact through lead qualification.
- Proven ability to convert prospects into paying customers.
- Advisory role in providing advice on market opportunities, messaging, and competitive intel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional collaboration and listening skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members, prospects, and other stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills to balance individual prospecting activities and team management responsibilities
- Ability to own your targets, projects and tasks by being proactive and a thinker.
- Self-motivation, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for innovative technology solutions.
- Proficiency in the use of a CRM (i.e. Salesforce.com).
- You thrive in a diverse, global environment and build strong, positive relationships with your stakeholders.
You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have:
- Significant experience in the EdTech sector
- An understanding of EdTech, particularly learning management systems (LMS)
- Technically fluent, written and spoken, in English and Hindi plus 2 or more regional dialects.
- Familiarity with open-source software.
