MSR-FSR is a global partner supporting Semiconductor and other High-Tech Industries. Our Field Support Resources Division has an immediate opening in our Construction Management Solutions branch.
The Project Safety Coordinator will report to the on-site MSR-FSR Project Manager and will also have direct access to and support from the MSR-FSR Global EHS Director.
Position Description
The Safety Coordinator will contribute to project success by serving to ensure the protection of people, property, and the environment. This role requires continuous engagement with the workforce throughout the day, and ready availability to meet urgent support needs for incident response, ad hoc support requests, etc.
The client worksite is a multiemployer workplace with numerous companies providing a wide variety of services that involve hazardous activities controlled by either the site owner or General Contractor. The MSR-FSR Safety Coordinator is responsible for understanding the nature of site activity hazards and fostering cooperative relationships with other site safety personnel, to ensure the highest degree of hazard communication and situational awareness and protection is maintained by and for our workforce, where potentially exposed to such hazards.
Responsibilities:
SAFETY LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION
- Promote the MSR-FSR Leadership attitude of Safety being an intrinsic value basic to both organizational and personal responsibility and success at all levels.
- Stay abreast of site-wide safety issues and concerns through open communication and collaboration with other on-site Safety Professionals and the project team.
- Continuously reinforce the value of active workforce participation and engagement in the Safety Program and encourage continuous feedback.
HAZARD IDENTIFICATION & ASSESSMENT
- Ensure familiarity with relative federal and regional safety laws, as well as client site and prime contractor requirements, as applicable.
- Review the contract Scope of Work and compare with the Initial Hazard Assessment to determine if all known or reasonably anticipated hazards have been adequately addressed.
- Conduct daily evaluations of the workplace, equipment, activities, and document both conforming and nonconforming conditions.
SAFETY TRAINING / COACHING
- Identify all client site and general contractor training requirements applicable to workers based upon the hazard assessment.
- Provide safety coaching and communicate safe work requirements to the workforce and Program Manager to ensure that all workers understand the nature of the job hazards, how to identify increased risk, and what their rights and responsibilities are under the Safety Program.
- Ensure that all workers understand and are capable of following emergency/incident response, reporting, and follow-up care procedures.
PROGRAM EVALUATION AND IMPROVEMENT
- Provide weekly status reports to the Project Manager using assigned reporting tools for Key Performance Indicators, incorporating inputs from contributing workers.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of Site-Specific Safety Plans and elevate improvement opportunities to the EHS Director.
Qualifications
- The Safety Coordinator should possess a mix of formal safety education, relevant experience, and certifications, where strength in one area may substitute for others, based upon project needs and candidate attributes.
- Associates degree /Technical Training in Safety or related field or Copstruction Management or Engineering degree.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
- Computer literate: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Etc.
- Ability to travel to between the Richardson TX location and the Sherman TX location on a weekly basis. A gas stipend is offered to compensate for this travel.
- Prefer at least 1 year of experience working in a semiconductor facility.
