We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Server to join our National Lutheran Communities & Services family in Staunton, VA. In this critical role, you will make a positive daily impact on our residents' dining experience.
Job Overview
As our Lead Server, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming, warm environment that ensures our residents feel valued and cared for during every meal service. You will supervise our dining team, manage service operations, and directly contribute to the quality of life for our community members.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support dining service team members
- Ensure exceptional customer service for residents and guests
- Manage dining room setup and maintenance
- Take and accurately process food and beverage orders
- Handle payments and financial transactions efficiently
- Train and mentor junior servers
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor
- A minimum of one years experience working in the dining room is required
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must have the ability to receive and follow instructions, and communicate clearly with residents, guests and other team members
- Must have manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in high volume meal service is preferred
- Computer skills helpful, with the ability to learn and use proprietary software as required
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
