Job Description

The Project Manager, Commercial – North America is a member of the Franchise Strategy and Commercial Operations team with a primary focus on the day-to-day management of the North America Commercial Operations. This role partners closely with the Director of Franchise Strategy and Commercial Operations and specific category and retail leadership to drive the North America business including management of key meetings, supporting the delivery and maintenance of tools and communications to the North America Commercial organization, and generating alignment to drive the forward moving momentum of UP&E Priority initiatives within the region.

They will actively participate in best-in-class culture through exceptional teamwork and active engagement in team meetings to support the organization’s operational excellence. Reports to the Director, Franchise Strategy and Commercial Operations.

Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000

Qualifications

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Works in partnership with North America leadership team to ensure seamless management of projects and requests for key stakeholders across UP&E’s North America consumer products business
  • Partners with North America Retail and Category teams to understand regional business needs and program timing, participating as a regional subject-matter expert in global conversations
  • Provides North America perspective and regional voice in global planning conversations 
  • Manages development and consistent updates of regional-specific presentations and messaging, ensuring exceptional quality, for internal and external use
  • Partners with cross functional teams in the development of retail road shows, presentations, virtual updates, line reviews and other regional updates as required
  • Recognizes sensitivity of studio assets and manages the watermarking, uploading, and distribution of assets to key internal stakeholders
  • Represents Franchise Strategy and Commercial Operations in select cross functional business planning teams, providing direction and resource to business development and planning conversations
  • Develops and manages timelines for all assigned projects; proactively and continuously manages updates to project trackers, project management tools or other ad hoc reports
  • Effectively communicates to the Director for any scope creep or delays in projects that could impact delivery timelines
  • Facilitate special projects as requested 
  • Spearhead collaborative culture through operational excellence and best-in-class partnership
  •  Actively contributes to best-in-class culture by embracing change, collaborating with others at various levels, learning from adversity and driving for solutions, proactive problem-solving, sharing best practices and a positive culture of feedback Contributes to the advancement and actualization of Universal’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments
  • Manages approvals waterfall for all projects, including executive-level approval moments
  • Develops and manages agendas and presentation materials for executive and/or team meetings; compiles and sends recaps and feedback for continued work progression 
  • Provides business partnership to and advises relevant stakeholders using in-depth knowledge of franchise strategies and knowledge of organizational/regional priorities. 
  • Builds relationships across the organization to drive efficiency, productivity and executional goals.
  • Participates in initiatives that contribute to promoting a culture of collaboration, proactive problem-solving, DEI, wellness, and feedback.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience, ideally in entertainment or consumer products operations
  • Highest-level project management skills, including attention to detail, time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong MAC skills including highly proficient in Keynote. Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Acrobat. Proficient in project management software; knowledge of Workfront preferred; Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator a plus
  • A team player prioritizing partnership, with the ability to follow instructions and follow through on projects
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting/competing priorities and stretch assignments
  • Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening as well as a professional presentation

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Comfortable dealing with people at all levels and easily collaborates to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and energetic when interacting with others
  • A passion and interest in consumer products, film/content, franchise/marketing strategy and studio process
  • A long-term interest in operations
     
  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
