Ndustrial Ntern Program Details: 

Ndustrial provides an opportunity to explore experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting.

The Ndustrial Ntern Program is a paid 13 week opportunity based in our downtown Raleigh, NC headquarters. Our Nterns work on real challenges and solve real problems with the support of our program leads and managers.

• May 14 - August 14 (13 weeks)
• 29 hours per week
• In-Office Mon - Thurs

About the Role:

As an Internet-of-Things(IoT) IoT Integrations Intern, you will assist in the deployment and configuration of IoT devices and data systems that drive our Nsight Energy Intensity Platform. You will work closely with experienced engineers to support the integration of smart devices and ensure that our energy management solutions operate seamlessly and with complete data for our clients.

This internship will allow you to develop your technical skills, gain valuable industry insights, and contribute to projects that directly impact energy efficiency and sustainability in industrial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the provisioning and configuration of IoT devices in the field
• Supporting the commissioning of IoT solutions for various industrial applications
• Participating in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during implementation or after facility updates post installation
• Contact team members, clients, and contractors when issues occur with deployed IoT devices
• Document project requirements, design specifications, implementation details, and testing procedures in technical reports and documentation
• Collaborating with engineering teams to gain hands-on experience in project workflows
• Contributing to improvement initiatives for system integration and device reliability

• Must be a junior or senior currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Must be available to work on-site from our Raleigh, NC office for the entirety of the program
• Basic understanding of IoT concepts and applications.
• Familiarity with networking protocols and device connectivity.
• Familiarity with basic electrical power quality concepts (kW/kVA/Power Factor).
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical team members and present ideas and projects to a broad audience
• Strong sense of responsibility to provide quality customer experience
• Self-motivated, proactive, and excited to expand your skill set
• Strong proficiency in Google Docs and Google Sheets/Excel, including advanced functions
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Prior experience in internships or projects related to IoT or automation is a plus
