Business Growth Advisor – Tech & Consumer Goods (7-month fixed term)

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is New Zealand's international business development agency. New Zealand businesses are in demand and the London team are looking for a Business Growth Advisor, to help New Zealand Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses enter and thrive in the UK and Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to represent NZ businesses that produce high-quality SaaS solutions.

 

What you'll be doing

Due to parental leave, we are seeking a commercially savvy professional to join our team for a 7 month fixed term contract, be part of our high-performing team who are passionate about helping businesses to grow!  Based in the central London New Zealand House, you will be focused on working with New Zealand companies in the Tech and Consumer Goods sectors. You’ll be working with an active portfolio of pre-dominantly Tech SaaS companies, focused on a range of industries.  To keep skills diversified and growing there will also be a proportion of consumer goods companies within this exciting portfolio. The companies we work with are often small, niche, high growth and looking to move fast. We need someone who understands the companies' mindset and can support their success.

 

You'll have the chance to partner with a diverse array of companies, assisting them in nurturing exciting market opportunities and empowering them to elevate their sales and marketing strategies. Your role will revolve around activities like identifying potential in-market collaborators and discovering growth prospects while acquiring invaluable market insights. This is a journey of empowerment and impact.

 

What you'll need to be successful

You'll have a commercial background in the SaaS industry and have worked in a technology sales, FMCG sales, account management, or consulting position. Ideally, you'll have managed a portfolio of companies and played a key role in evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, including supporting them with market entry and growth strategies.

 

You'll have strong communication, business consulting, and relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport quickly. You'll know how to guide our companies on how to effectively identify and work with channel partners and distributors selling into the SaaS industry.

 

Your enthusiastic attitude, proactive nature, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in virtual teams will be critical to your success. You'll also be tech savvy, with solid CRM, marketing, go to market strategy, and business models experience.

 

You'll also be flexible, adaptable, and have a high degree of comfort working with ambiguity.

 

Please note – this is position is known as a Business Development Manager internally.
