Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and strategic Director, Advertiser Sales to join our team. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for selling Nielsen’s Audience Measurement products and services to top U.S. advertisers, primarily located on the East Coast. You will collaborate closely with agency teams, specialist sellers, and cross-functional teams to provide innovative, data-driven solutions that address clients' marketing and business challenges.
Responsibilities - Sales and Business Development - Drive sales growth by developing and executing strategies to acquire, retain, and grow relationships with top US advertisers.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline, identifying new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
- Understand client needs and leverage Nielsen’s audience measurement and advertising solutions (TV, digital, cross-platform) to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Achieve sales and strategic objectives, including revenue targets and KPIs, by promoting Nielsen's data services to clients.
- Client Engagement & Strategy - Engage with decision-makers across agencies and brands, including CMOs, media planners, and data-driven marketing teams, to understand their business objectives.
- Deliver customized solutions through the use of Nielsen’s audience measurement tools to solve strategic marketing and advertising challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Client Success, Analytics, Product, Sales Operations, and Data Governance, to manage the sales cycle and ensure client satisfaction.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Teamwork - Partner with Nielsen’s agency and specialist sales teams to uncover thematic client needs and identify new sales opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with product, customer support, and marketing teams to ensure seamless client delivery and align product offerings with client needs.
- Share client insights and feedback with internal teams to help shape product development and enhance service offerings.
- Industry Expertise and Market Trends - Stay informed on key industry topics such as addressable advertising, programmatic buying, attribution measurement, and data-driven planning to effectively communicate with clients and stay ahead of market trends.
- Represent Nielsen at industry events, client meetings, and conferences, positioning the company as a thought leader in audience measurement.
Qualifications- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in a sales or business development role, ideally within the advertising, media, or data-driven marketing industries.
- Proven experience selling audience measurement services, advertising effectiveness solutions, or data-driven marketing solutions to brands, agencies and media planners.
- A strong network of relationships with key decision-makers at major brands with a track record of cultivating and growing strategic partnerships.
- Expertise in selling planning and buying data, as well as audience measurement services, including knowledge of addressable advertising, programmatic buying, and attribution measurement.
- Ability to understand client needs and craft tailored solutions that leverage Nielsen's audience measurement tools.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment under tight deadlines.

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $38,000 - $155,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
