Shipping/Logistics Supervisor

 Overview:

We are looking to fulfill our need for a Shipping/Logistics Supervisor at our Teterboro, NJ facility. Please be aware this is not an office position. This person must be experienced in shipping and logistical procedures and ways to create more efficient processes. The Shipping/Logistics Supervisor must possess exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills while being results-driven and detail oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Must be hands-on. This is not an office position.
• Accountable for ensuring on time and accurate deliveries to support our customers’ needs.
• All shipping, logistics, route and floor space management.
• Acquire a detailed understanding of the shipping requirements for NAS.
• Supervision of our NAS Drivers, Loaders and Finished Product Material Handler(s).
• Process all pick tickets and allocate Loaders to each assignment.
• Verify and maintain accurate records on all outgoing shipments.
• Inspect shipments and reconcile pick tickets with actual items loaded on the truck to customers and any returns sent back on the truck from customers.
• Ensure the shipping area is well organized and all finished products are stored in the correct location for loading each shipment.

• Assign Drivers to each delivery and remain in continuous communication with the drivers while on deliveries.
• Able to communicate any delivery questions or issues with the customer which may arise on delivery day (such as parking, where the receiving area is, etc.).
• Maintain the Trailer Log.
• Ensure the Maintenance Department is informed of any repairs which are needed and that the fleet is always roadworthy.
• Ensure all insurance and registrations are current and inform when renewal is required.
• Participate in quarterly physical inventory counts of finished goods.
• Communicate with various departments on a daily basis such as the Project Support Department, Plant Manager, etc.
• Other activities may be assigned from management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years’ experience as a Shipping/Logistics Supervisor or similar position
• Ability to plan and prioritize activities
• Familiarity with GPS software
• Able to operate a forklift and power jack (willing to train)
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• The ability to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Able to apply health and safety practices
• Computer literate and working knowledge of MS Office
• CDL license a plus (not mandatory)
• Prior fenestration industry experience a plus (not mandatory)

Full-time Position

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
