Financial Modeling Intern (Spring 25), Fintech

Looking to flex your Excel muscles while working with some of the coolest fintech minds in the game? As a Financial Modeling Intern at Novel Capital, you’ll dive into the heart of our financial models and strategy. You'll collaborate with our finance, product, and credit teams—and even get facetime with C-level execs! This is your chance to play a key role in shaping our forecasting model while working with the tech startups we support. 

What you’ll do:

• Build Financial Models: Help create a dynamic, Excel-based financial model that forecasts key metrics like revenue, expenses, and cash flow. 
• Play “What If”: Explore different scenarios—what happens in a best-case, worst-case, or “who-knows-what” case? 
• Dig into Data: Work with raw numbers from our accounting tools and lending platform to fuel your models. 
• Work Closely with the Team: Collaborate with our product, finance, and engineering teams to make models shine. 
• Visualize Results: Turn your forecasts into easy-to-understand graphs and charts for our leadership team. 
• Be a Troubleshooter: Ensure your model runs smoothly and refine it for accuracy and speed. 

• You’re a college senior or MBA candidate pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or something related. 
• Excel is your happy place—pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and INDEX-MATCH are in your toolkit. 
• You know your way around financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flows). 
• Problem-solving and detail-oriented? Check and check. 
• You can work independently but love being part of a team. 
• Bonus points if you’ve dabbled in Python, SQL, or financial modeling techniques. 
• This position requires candidates to have a current and valid U.S. work permit. Please confirm your eligibility to work in the United States before applying.
