Expedited Commercial Services Manager

Now Courier is excited to expand its commercial delivery services segment, and we are seeking a dynamic and driven Expedited Commercial Services Manager to lead and grow our commercial fleet division. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of fast-paced, high-priority logistics solutions for our commercial clients. You will manage fleet operations, coordinate with clients, and ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective services that meet the evolving needs of the business.

Principal Function: The Expedited Commercial Services Manager is responsible for coordinating aspects of commercial fleet planning and scheduling, as well as maximizing revenue, driver productivity, fleet compliance, and other established company goals for retaining drivers and achieving an excellent safety record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Vehicle Management:
• Monitoring vehicle condition through regular inspections and maintenance schedules 
• Overseeing vehicle repairs and coordinating with service providers 
• Managing vehicle acquisition and disposal processes 
• Implementing preventative maintenance programs 
• Driver Management:
• Hiring, training, and evaluating drivers based on safety and performance standards 
• Monitoring driver hours of service and compliance with regulations 
• Addressing driver safety concerns and implementing corrective actions 
• Cost Control:
• Analyzing fuel consumption and implementing strategies for fuel efficiency 
• Budgeting for vehicle maintenance and repairs 
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities within the fleet 
• Route Optimization:
• Analyzing delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize mileage 
• Implementing route planning software to optimize delivery schedules 
• Compliance Management:
• Ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations 
• Maintaining vehicle documentation and records 
• Conducting regular safety audits and inspections 
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Tracking key fleet metrics like fuel usage, mileage, maintenance costs, and driver performance 
• Generating reports for management to inform decision-making

Education and/or Experience:  Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; and 7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in the logistics and distribution industry is a requirement.

• Proficient with commonly used office software, including but not limited to: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, telephone, and internet communications.

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. However, job duties may require one to operate in a warehouse environment with moderate safety/health hazard potential. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This role is required to be on-site from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday.

While the offices of NOW Courier are open from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, this job may require work beyond these hours and on the weekends. Occasional travel may be required.
