Business Development Manager

now>press>play is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. Our immersive audio resource connects primary school children to their learning through sound, storytelling and movement. You will play a critical role in driving growth by generating new business. This role is perfect for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial individual who can collaborate with other people to reach and exceed targets.  You will have a proven track record in sales. You’ll need to be adaptable, enjoy rising to challenges, and be passionate about making a difference. Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through research, networking, and lead generation.
  • Prompt follow-up on all leads via phone and email to generate trials/sales and referrals.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for senior leaders.
  • Build and nurture relationships with MATs, LEAs and School Groups.
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation to close.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Attend regional/national events. e.g. conferences, workshops, webinars, HT meetings (online and/or in person).
  • Work closely in collaboration with the Marketing, Customer Success, Ops and Product teams.
  • Facilitate training sessions for school staff remotely and in person, as needed.

Strategy

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for your territory.
  • Use app analytics to track school usage during trials and inform your approach to sales.
  • Report on monthly targets and keep track of why schools do/don’t subscribe.
  • Take action when necessary to meet targets.
  • Keep CRM and CMS systems up-to-date and accurate.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the education sector.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in CRM software.
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to inspire and engage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Consistently follow company policies and strive to live the organisation's values, contributing to a positive and aligned workplace culture.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Comfortable with change and excited by challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A clear passion for education and a strong belief that every child should be able to access the curriculum
  • Genuine excitement about joining an edtech social enterprise and a willingness to muck in

 

Desirable 

  • Understanding and knowledge of the English primary school curriculum
  • A keen interest and up to date knowledge of the UK education sector
  • Salary: £40-£43k per annum + up to £15k OTE
  • Holidays: 40 days (15% of these must be taken during school holidays) plus statutory bank holidays
  • Location: London
  • Hybrid working: flexible working from home and office (2 day minimum office days)
  • Duration: Permanent contract
  • Hours: Full time, 9-5.30pm
